BMI Healthcare strives to ensure that the risk of infection for their patients is kept as low as possible and a focus on hygiene and infection control is one of our top priorities.
Rigorous infection control regimes have ensured that there has been no reported incidence of hospital acquired MRSA infections at Sarum Road hospital since 2003.
All patients are nursed in single rooms and every member of the hospital team receives regular updates on methods of controlling infection. All patients undergoing major surgery are routinely screened for MRSA prior to their admission.
If there is any doubt about a patient’s MRSA status
on admission, or if a patient has been transferred from a
high risk environment, that patient will be tested and, until
the results are made available, staff will take additional
precautions when providing nursing care (known as ‘barrier-nursing’). For
further information and a copy of the ‘MRSA and Prevention
of Infection’ leaflet, please contact Sarum Road Hospital
directly on 01962 844555.
